Jr. FLL involves children from the kindergarten to the third grade and gives them real world challenges for them to solve. They do so by presenting their ideas through Legos in the form of solid structures with moving parts. The program heavily emphasizes working together as a team.

FLL involves children from the fourth grade up to eigth grade and, like Jr. FLL, challenges them with a real world problem for them to solve. In addition to this, FLL teams also need to compete in a game with certain objectives to complete using Lego NXT Robots. 

Jr. FLL:

  • Grades K-3

  • Over 3700 Teams Registered

  • Teams consist of up to 6 Children

  • Use stationary and moving Legos to accompish their mission

  • Heavily focuses on presenting their ideas in a coherent fasion

FLL:

  • Grades 4-8

  • Over 21,500 Teams Registered

  • Teams consist of on average 10 Children

  • Uses Lego NXT Robots to compete in different challenges relating to the overall problem.

  • Asked to present possible solutions to real world problems

Team 3812, Bits & Bots, is a five-year-old FRC team that is based in Longview, Washington. Currently, the team is operated through the Longview School District within Mark Morris High School; however, any student located in Cowlitz County is welcome to join. To learn more about us, click here.
